We had a great meal here. The atmosphere inside is cozy. The food and service were outstanding. Friendly staff served food that was fresh and priced right. I enjoyed the French onion soup and a wonderful salad that was abundant in ingredients. My guest enjoyed a wrap special that had plenty of chicken and again was very fresh. We ordered a rich chocolate cake for dessert. Yum. If you aren't from albany read the street signs and you'll find plenty of parking nearby. In warmer months you can sit outside. Full bar if that is what you fancy with a plentiful beer selection.

Frankly, I think this is a solid pub to visit! It's recommended on a lot of tourist websites, so I was a little hesitant, but in comparison to other bars and pubs, this is a good place. It's in a beautiful building, and the interior makes you feel like you're sitting in someplace historic. The staff are all friendly, and the ambience is very lively. I ordered some fish and chips, which were basic. It's nothing fancy, but alongside my beer, they fit well. I think this restaurant is suited for get-togethers, drinking nights, and having a good time. I wouldn't necessarily go here only for food but more for a good night out.

We loved it so much that we had to go back the next day to try some more ;) We ordered BLTea and chicken pot pie for dinner and they were absolutely amazing! The chocolate cake for dessert was perfect. We had our 9-month old with us and our server was very accommodating and kind. We went back for my husband's birthday brunch and the seating upstairs was so cozy and loved the ambiance. They gave him a big cup of beer (of his choice) so that was really nice. Highly recommend their fish n chips and traditional English breakfast as well.

Amazing service! Walking distance from our hotel. We got the Kedgeree with tofu, which was delicious - but a tad more red pepper flake would have put it over the top! We also ordered a class cheese burger with the most delicious fries! The inside looks just like you were in an old English pub. They had some great beers on the menu, but the dessert menu was lacking with only 3 options - carrot, chocolate or cheese cake. Can't say enough good things about our waitress. She was on point and very friendly! Would recommend!

I'm really glad I research where I'm going! Dining at the place was so interesting. It is such a cute, quaint spot. We enjoyed learning about the history of it and looking through the decor. The food and service were also good. We ordered the fish &chips and BLT. Both came with a HUGE portion of steak fries. The tartar sauce with the fish was really good (which I am picky about). I am so glad we enjoyed a lunch at this historic restaurant.

This time was better! I went per a recommendation for some hygge holiday decor and it served! Our waiter was great and the drinks were cute and tasty. My husband loved his BLTea which was huge! I got the soup of the day (black bean, chicken and corn soup) and dipping fries for my meal and I was full happy. The only thing I would say, is the menu choices could be better for me. I wanted a salad with a protein. Salad is $17 and to add, at the cheapest, chicken is $7 making for an expensive salad. I'd like them to add a salad that includes a protein initially but otherwise will return.

While visiting Albany for work, a few of my coworkers recommended the Olde English for our after work Happy Hour. Their cocktail menu looked fun, and their beer menu seemed to please the guys. Since Im pregnant I was happy to see they had a few mock tail options and I got the Rum Pum Pum. It was very enjoyable. I also got the french fries (again- pregnant). It was a large sharing portion. It came with dipping sauces everyone else raved about and while I found them decent I really just enjoyed eating the delicious french fries on their own. I also want to shout out the awesome bartender, I think her name is Kayla. We got the bar shortly before 4:30 PM on Tuesday. The night started off quiet and we were able to have some nice chats with her. Then as the night got progressively busier I saw her truly hustling still with a great attitude. I would return again if in the area and recommend it to others traveling.

We stopped in with a group of 12 to have some Din-din before the King and Country concert at the MVP Arena. First....drinks are great from beers to cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and I especially loved my "espresso martini ". I don't remember what it was called but it was good. Second....appetizers were also good but average. One thing tho, they have fries with multiple sauces. If you're a French fries lover like me then get that. Nice change from ketchup I got a really delicious burger. We were in such a rush I forgot the name but it was great. Hubs got the fish and chips. Not great. It was just greasy and bland. The waitstaff was great. Checked on our large party often which is nice. Also we were in the room upstairs and it's a cozy place. We basically took over up there because we met other friends so our party kept growing.
